Can I stop payments to my landlord?

Yes, but it should be done prudently and only with real cause. RentCertain was designed to ease the screening process for you. That’s done by demonstrating that there are funds available from which rent is to be paid. If you could just show the funds and then pull them away it would undermine the very purpose. We do allow you, however, to suspend payments. This should be done only if you think your landlord is in material breach of the lease. Funds will be held pending a resolution covered in the Escrow Agreement.
